Provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement. The American Red Cross is committed to keeping people safe at home and at work. The Lake Cumberland Area Chapter teaches Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation, Bloodborne Pathogens Training and other courses, inlcuding HIV/AIDS Prevention, disaster planning, preparedness education and brochures to residents.
