SUPPORT INFORMATION: Support Groups: Grief Support Groups

CJ FOUNDATION FOR SIDS
Today, the Foundation is the largest non-government funder of programs meeting the needs of the SIDS community. The CJ Foundation contributes its resources to the nation's leading SIDS investigators. As research has indicated that risk reduction is possible, the CJ Foundation is committed to developing, implementing and providing funding for education and awareness programs so that the message of risk reduction reaches every potential population. The CJ Foundation is national in scope and also supports bereavement and counseling services for those families that have lost a baby to SIDS.

The CJ Foundation also created the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Program. SUDC is the sudden and unexplained death of a child over the age of twelve months. Its mission is to provide a centralized resource for information, support and advocacy for a community that, without the support of the CJ Foundation, would have remained unnoticed.

HOSPICE OF LAKE CUMBERLAND
Programs provide counseling to grieving patients and their families. In addition, we provide open Support Groups for the communities we serve. Bereavement groups provide opportunities to learn about grief and interact with others who have also experienced a death. Camp Promise is a special overnight camp for children ages 6-16 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Special activities include pond fishing, horse back riding, games that help children cope with loss and grief, movie time and more.
