ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
Assistive technology refers to devices and tools that are created to help those with disabilities participate more fully in the activities of daily life. Assistive technology can be funded by: private insurance, public funding, other private sources, or loans. Assistive technology may be provided through several agencies, each with its own application process. Call the Kentucky Assistive Technology (KATS) Network for information on local providers in your area. KATS helps people of all ages. A KATS representative will ask a few questions to help determine your need and direct you to the right agency or service provider.

K-SPIN (Kentucky Special Parent Involvement Network)
The mission of KY-SPIN, Inc. is to empower and support individuals with disabilities and their families to effectively advocate for and access needed information, resources and support networks in order to enhance the quality of their lives. Consultants throughout the state conduct community workshops, provide information and support to families of children with all types of disabilities on the issues of laws, rights, listening and communication skills, and understanding their child’s disabilities.
